Beija at Venice Beach

During the shoot for the Fila x Snkr Inc Mindbreaker, Beija also wore a dope Nike fit that we did a shoot with at the famous Venice Beach basketball courts - my first time being and shooting there. The colors she put together in her fit really complimented well with the tones of the courts, making this shoot very pleasing to shoot and post process.

This shoot also encouraged me to do some brush retouches, which I rarely do, and I remembered a while back that I met another photographer who consistently did brush retouches and used a tablet as his main form of editing. What this further led to was my very first purchase of a tablet! I'm excited to see where that will take my photography editing.

Beija and I got along really well throughout the day and I'm happy to say that this day's collaboration is definitely the start of a great friendship! Stay tuned for more to come.

Snkr Inc x Fila Mindbreaker

Although I have yet to share any of my past work, I've been shooting for the next up and coming media outlet for sneaker culture Snkr Inc. Their creative director John Columbo is a really good old friend of mine and he reached out to me after I moved to Los Angeles to do some shots for them, and I've swung by ever now and then ever since. I'm really proud of what they've achieved so far, and even happier that I've been given the opportunity to contribute to their company.

Shortly after my return to Japan, John shared the huge huge news with me - he made his own sneaker with the legendary brand we all know, Fila!! Beyond excited for him, he also gave me the honor to shoot the lookbook for them with influencer Beija Velez.

Our main shoot locations were at Marina del Rey, since some of the shoe's concept was derived from a boat - and the remaining was at the Kaws BFF statue due to the matching colors. A huge congratulation to the guys over at Snkr Inc and my mans John for doing his thang.

Richie Martinez

Another overdue post, but this is one of my best friends Richie Martinez. Although we are very familiar with this Supreme x Nas Tee by now, as well as the other FW 17 tees, this shoot wasn't just a simple pick up fit. This was shot on August 2nd.  Supreme released these tees August 24th. That's right - EARLY. Richie always surprises me with his crazy pick ups and he definitely had me shocked with this one. This shoot was featured by the infamous JPreme and went viral on his account before Supreme had his posts removed for copyright.

Geraldine Veras

Better late than never [this shoot was back in August], but this is a good friend of mine named Geraldine, whom I've known for a while now, and we met through dance! She's super dope and down to earth and has been supportive of my photography for as long as I've known her! During my moving to LA promotion, she finally reached out to work together to do some photos for fun, so we did! These were taken in San Francisco near the Presidio on a rare warm summer day.
